Over 250,000 customers in Florida already without power as Hurricane Milton moves in

According to poweroutage.us, although Hurricane Milton is still a few hours away from making landfall,

more than 250,000 customers in Florida have already lost power. Power outages are getting worse along Florida's west coast, but some of the counties with the most outages are actually in the state's central and eastern parts because of this afternoon's tornado outbreak in Milton's outer bands. Power outages in western Florida will start to increase significantly this evening as hurricane-force gusts begin to move inshore. One utility issued a warning that the state could experience up to one million outages.
