A new book by veteran Watergate reporter Bob Woodward claims that Donald Trump sent Vladimir Putin highly sought-after Covid-19 tests for personal use when they were scarce, a claim that the Trump campaign vehemently denied.
According to excerpts cited by US media, the book titled War also makes the claim that Trump has secretly maintained contact with Putin since leaving office.
None of these "made-up stories," according to the Trump campaign, were true.
In a statement to the BBC, Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung stated, "President Trump gave him absolutely no access for this trash book that either belongs in the bargain bin of the fiction section of a discount bookstore or used as toilet tissue."
