Israeli President Isaac Herzog sent a message to Jewish communities around the world to mark the upcoming anniversary of Hamas' attack on Israel last year,

lamenting the anti-Semitism that has erupted around the world since then. In his message, Herzog said, "In different ways, we are all still experiencing the aftermath of October 7." "It is felt everywhere in our country. It is evident in the anti-Semitism that rose around the world after the war with Hamas," he said. "It is evident in the continued threats against the Jewish state by Iran and its proxies, who seek to destroy our only Jewish nation-state with hatred," Herzog added. But Herzog continued, "we are a people with the strength to continually stand up against hatred." "We have not abandoned our deep desire and efforts for peace with our neighbors." And we continue to have that intention, even as we assert our right to feel safe as Jews wherever on earth we live... We will get through this difficult time, we will overcome the hatred, and we will rebuild," he said.
